Summer Color!

I spied the focal piece in myself portraits on a random browsing trip with my friend.

We literally went from store to store until 1am that day, stopping for lunch at TGI Friday's in between.

I had to practice moderate restraint as I had over an undisclosed amount's worth of items in my basket, in one store.

I saw so many pieces that I could do so much with!

The next day, I used this skirt and two other items to motivate me to do my homework, as it was the closing day of my weekend.

I silently bribed myself, "If you do your homework, you can go get your treats."

Will work for FASHION...

As you can see, I got it done, and rewarded myself.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd I learned about a trick that another blogger does that was so affirming to me...

She said she cuts the lining out of some of her clothes because she finds them so constricting.

I agree...

This skirt was FULLY Lined and it fit so snug around areas where I'm MOST Curvaceous.

So, I gingerly and carefully took my scissors and removed it...

Volia!

I could stand to get this garment taken in a bit at the waist though...

When I saw Kim of Naturally Fashionable showcase her version the short-short for us curvy girls, I knew EXACTLY which bottoms I had in my own arsenal of curvy style.

They have graced many of laid back summer days ever since I bought them over a year ago.

But, it wasn't until I saw Kim's Blog and I was playing in my clothes this morning, that I thought to give them a whirl today.

I'm so glad that I did too!

They were PERFECT for the heat, 90 degrees to be exact.

I LOVED editing these pictures and actually seeing for myself how big and pretty my legs are.

It's wonderful to find bottoms that play up your features instead of taking away from your shape.

 

I have held on to these shorts for so long because it's really hard for me to find some that cater to these curves but still show a lil leg!

I do have cellulite, saddle bags and thunder thighs ...

But in these mid-thigh length pants, you can't' tell...

At least I couldn't!

I Know it's Been a MINUTE But Life...

Happened!

Since I've been away I have:

Moved...

Which was HELL!

You never know how much CRAP {Shoes & Clothes} you've accumulated until you have to transport it all...

But I have grown to know AWESOME individuals who saved me a lot of money helping me transport that CRAP!

Started Summer School

& tell me WHY I had a paper due the WEEK CLASS STARTED! ...Welcome to Grad school.

Took a Jab to my Self Esteem...

More than once.

Started Cheating on Fashion with Furniture...

As Carrie Bradshaw put it...

So yeah the Blog got put on the back burner for a minute...

Now on to the outfit...

I ALMOST took these pants back to whence they came as I just couldn't pull a look together that I loved.

I JUST donated my only oatmeal colored wide belt to Goodwill...

And even though I applaud my observation of civic deeds, I could have used it as I decided to translate the lighter shade in the pants as ivory...

Instead I used this fabulous ring...So Boho Chic!

These dainty earrings...

And these t-strapped sandals!

I love that I can wear my toes out at work and it still be considered professional.

The store I got these pants from has the same pattern in black.

I'm going after them really soon!
