Before I did anything on my VAST list of things to do I
wanted to showcase another one of the looks that Eboni from The Fashionista Next Door
featured in her weekly link-up.
I have
been a blogger for many years now, starting out journaling the happenings in my
life, to now blogging about what I’m wearing throughout my journey.
Every now and then I will still touch on things that are
heavy on my heart and in my head…
But for the most part, fashion is here to stay.
That is why I connect with the genuine as well as the
fashionable people on here as well as in my life outside of the blog.
This look featured what Eboni
identified as proportion play. Taking simple, staple pieces and layering
them to create something that makes a statement.
I like how participation in
the link-up doesn’t entail copying the look verbatim, which leaves room for
individuality and creativity.
In my interpretation of the look, I went with a BOLDER color pallet! In some parts of the country they are
having Sprwinter weather where some parts of the days are cooler than others;
making way for the temperature to transition for the warmer months. In my city,
it gets cooler at night, but its pretty warm in the daytime.
I wanted to demonstrate how you can still be warm and cozy,
but incorporate springy colors into your wardrobe.
This bold-striped open-knit sweater is the perfect mash-up
of darker winter colors and lighter springy shades.
The skirt is also a transitional piece that can be worn in
Spring or Winter months.
My nail polish is an ULTIMATE accessory for me and it serves
as my make-up as I am oftentimes barefaced. My mint shellac manicure adds an
interesting element to this look in my head.
Check out my mustache ring…I love eccentric pieces like this
and I want a mustache screen tee too!
