So ... I found myself getting up only an hour later than I do
when I go to work, to participate in my city's Heart Walk.
It came fast, with it barely being the first week in October.
But I made the commitment to myself to be there. And I did it! Not only that,
but I did Zumba on the main lawn as well which was so fun.
Of course I had my camera with me to capture some highlights
of the event.
I go through spurts of working out and eating right.
My motivation to do so usually comes from weight gain, so
I'm consistently inconsistent.
But I must admit that when I work out on regular basis, I
feel so accomplished whether I lose weight or not. ...Especially if it's an
extreme fitness program like Insanity, (which I am on the second month).
1. After today I learned that working out in nature makes a
difference! Something about being outside made the experience feel less
congested. I didn't realize I felt that way until I tried something new.
I thought maybe I should, at the very least, visit a local track at least once
a week and walk/jog a mile.
2. Also running, (walk/jogging), does give you a high. I noticed a
significant difference in my energy level after I finished. I also
felt my lungs and heart working harder which is said to be good for you.
3. I liked that one of the sponsors of the Heart Walk had
healthy snacks readily available for participates. Eating foods with natural
sugars like fruit or a reasonable serving of foods with carbohydrates like a
granola bar of a small serving of nuts can provide the body with energy before
or after a work-out.
This was my choice of a healthy snack before I did Zumba.
My Work-Out Swag...

Great cause...great job!
ReplyDeleteI love being a part of walks/runs for a cause. It's a great way to become educated about certain topics and issues. And there's nothing like a great workout too!
ReplyDeleteYou looked super cute! Love the printed leggings.
This sounds great!! Unfortunately I hate banana's but wish I liked them so I could eat them as a snack.... You've inspired me!! I need to get to walking and stop snacking so much... I wanted to do the Susan G Komen 3 day walk, but unfortunately I got sick and am not/was not able to participate in the trainings and the walk. Can't wait until next year though, you've inspired me to try to do better!! Good luck with insanity...
