Woman Behind the BLOG...

036

I'm having internet issues.
This merely means I decided to expend my internet bill money on entertaining myself while I was vacationing at home this Christmas.
I've been going through withdrawal as I am used to the world wide web being accessible in the comfort of my own home.
Today I decided to gather up by gumption and make the rather short drive, (to my astonishment), to Starbucks to use the free WiFi.
I can recollect when I had to do this more often than not at a local coffee house that was right down the street from my old apartment...in my old town...because after paying all my bills, I couldn't afford internet.
I just finished reading "Waiting to Exhale" and the sequel, "Getting to Happy," by Terry McMillan.

books

Reading books to me are like savoring something luscious to the last drop. And when it's over, you're a little disappointed, but glad you had the experience.
My analytical side always looks for the message behind the story..."What was the purpose?"
These two books were special because I could connect to the four heroines whose lives the author so vividly illustrates to the reader.
Terry made me envy that I don't have that close circle of down-to-earth people I can go to and bare my soul to.

I would say without judgment, but when someone judges your actions out of love and empathy, you don't feel so rotten when they're telling you something you don't want to hear.
What I am taking most from the books is;
Just because intimate love is a deficit in your life, doesn't mean your life is over...(It sure feels that way sometimes)...

And
You can make your life what you want it to be...
Like Emily King says  ...

"I'm the only one that looks out for me,
Can be me,
And walk in my shoes. ..."

So there you have it.
Behind the beautiful pictures of the beautiful clothes and the beautiful backgrounds  lies a REAL Person!
Sometimes people only show the parts of their lives that they feel others want to see because they are scared of judgment.

Go ahead and judge!

I'm not scared!
<><>
I'm going to be authentic regardless.
I get lonely.
I get scared.
Sometimes I feel I'm not good enough when I compare myself to others.
I'm self indulgent.
& sometimes act in desperation.
I'm competitive (in a I'm not trying to hurt you, but help me sort of way)
 I am smart.
I am beautiful.
I am kind.
I am hard-working.
I am creative.
I am loving.
I have integrity.
And I m smiling at myself right now because it felt good to write this. ...

And I've been tagged by the Lovely Tika from "Spoonful of Sugar" with questions that will undoubetly give one more insight about The Woman Behind the Blog ...

I grew up in Dallas Texas!

No, the furthest I've been is New York when I was about 10 or 12.
3. What is style to you?
Right now it's inspiration! I am finding my style by picking up on things I see from other bloggers as I go.
I can also say it's what makes you feel good.
It's an outfit I put together that makes me proud to wear it.

Moving...I just picked up and left and am itching to do it again when this chapter of my life is finished!
6. What/who makes you smile?

Feeling happy,
Feeling accepted,
Feeling appreciated,
When something is funny/cute
When something/someone is relatable
Just those random moments that make you feel good...
7. Do you have a piece of clothing that you refuse to give up or throw away?
I clean out my closet frequently ...out with the old and in with the new
8. Who is your greatest influence?
My mom, (I sometimes hate to say) ...We disagree, but I always find myself wanting to make her proud of me...
And then just random people...If they are doing something that makes them successful at something I want to be successful at, I ask them for advice...
9. What size shoe do you wear?
9/12 - 10
10. Who's the most famous person you've ever met?
Wow, I never met anyone famous...
11. What's your favorite meal to prepare?
Chicken...or anything that's easy, filling, healthy (I try any ways) and tastes good.
