As I’ve shared before, I am taking this time to step out of
my comfort zone and wear things, which I’ve shied away from over the years!
One of these articles of clothing is my newly acquired
DUKES!
These upper thigh-grazing bottoms have been
affectionately called by many names over the years:
Hot Pants
Hootchie Shorts
Cut-Offs
Jorts
Daisy Dukes*
It's obvious I thought of the
latter today.
Nostalgia made me think about how these short shorts
were named for the '70's Dukes of Hazard Character Daisy Duke.
Also in the ‘90’s, the catch phrase was reinitiated when The
69 Boyz came out with a rap ode to pretty girls in shorts that barely grazed
their thigh.
I was hardly a preteen and my mom bought me a pair with the
ruffles on the leg!
Today, my massive thighs won’t stop me from embracing the reminiscence
this article of clothing brings.
As a connoisseur of personal style I’ve learned a few tricks
to make it happen for my body type.
Exude confidence.
Add Length on top.
Peplums, loose-fitting button-downs and lose-fitting tees work well for this concept.

Wear some sky-high,
but comfy, heels!
Platforms have become a STAPLE for me this summer.

This look made me feel untra-feminine and chic! It’s about
time I felt that way in some short shorts!
