Office Chic!

One of the NEAT things about having your own office is you get to be Office Chic. ...At least that's one of my excuses.
Office Chic defined is when the fashionista combines pieces that represent a polished and professional look.
Here are some of my favorite Professionally Chic Pieces:

Photobucket

  • Versatile Pieces that can be Remixed Over and Over,

  • Sensible Shoes that add Pizzazz and your Feet Will be Grateful at the end of the Day,

  • Fancy Tops that Make a BOLD Statement,

  • Figure Flattering & Classy Silhouettes that Will Never go out of Style for the Office,

  • And Dainty Accessories that are Deliciously Edgy, Chic, and Conservative at the Same Time ...

I MAY Have a Problem...

Photobucket

Shopping is my joy!
If I had all the money in the world, I would probably get bored from spending it all on shopping.
At least that's what I've heard people who have money do...get bored of spending it after a while.
Without divulging too much about WHY I think this is an issue for me, I have thought about what I can do to rectify the situation.
Mmmmmkay...
One of the MAIN reasons I employ for my shopping addiction is I am doing something for myself.
You know, to treat myself and all that Jazz.
Well...
I've decided I'm going to treat myself ... but in other ways.
So...I'm going to make a list of stuff I've ALWAYS wanted to do but have been too scared to get out of my comfort zone to do..
It's going to be my "Get Up, Get Out, and Get Something," List.
And since I have recently attained an ENDLESS supply of these beautiful clothes, I can wear them while I embark on my adventures.
So here are some reasonable rules...
1. No shopping unless it is to buy gifts for people for Christmas or buy groceries.
2. I can STILL get my hair, toes and nails done as well as get my brows waxed.
3. No MORE dipping into my savings.
Now, here are some things I've wanted to do but haven't had the guts.
1. Go to Bay Area Fellowship for Church
2. Go to the S.S. Lexington, Art Museum, Aquarium and Botanical Gardens
3. Go see a movie alone
4. Take a mini Staycation to Houston or San Antonio and engage in their nightlife
5. Go to a night club alone
6. Go to at least 3 events going on in town
7. Eat at a restaurant on the Bayfront
8. Go to the "Island"
9. Document these Happenings on my Blog...[Duh!]
It would have been nice to have ten things ...but that's all I got.
What I hope to accomplish?
Self reliance.
 A step towards financial freedom.
Making my mom proud of me.
Ok...
With that being said...

From the Bottom Up...

As I have described previously in detail, I have been looking for some bottoms that fit better.
This started with jeans, (as I did a whole sphill on the topic), and have branched out in other areas.
I found some nice-fitting attire and I feel I made some nice choices today that will suit me well.
Here are some pictures of my style journey.

I also wanted to add some pictures of my outfit today.
Nothing special, just something that was versatile enough to keep me warm when it was a bit chilly today and wouldn't be too warm when the temperature raised.
I did good.

Woman About Town...

"Dress for the job you want, not the one you have..."
-Well-Known Fact
I had it purposed in my brain to find a brick wall as the backdrop for these photos.
I already had a spot in mind and then after my shoot, I was going to backtrack to get some breakfast.
At the last second, I spotted a store that had an empty parking lot and a stretch of brick wall that would be PERFECT for the shoot I had in mind.
Armed with my camera and tripod, I was just about to set up shop when I spotted this lush and manicured shrubbery.

Photobucket

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...
Wouldn't be nice to use this in the shoot as well?

Photobucket

An added bonus was the busy street in the back ground and the row of shops further behind.
It gave the shoot a metropolitan meets suburbia meets the town square feel.

Maybe I'm a psychiatrist on her way to her private practice in a small town...just maybe...

ReMIX! 10.24.11 ...

While reading a Blog I frequent, I was asked if I shop for my BLOG.
The answer is yes!
I am guilty.
I have always taken an interest in the way that I dress.
But now that I've started documenting my outfits, I am cognizant of how clothing looks on me.
Pictures always seemed to balloon me out in a way that was unflattering.
Clothes can be a benefit or detriment to my figure in pictures, hence the shopping.
I also get sooooo many ideas from reading other curvy bloggers that I'd like to try.
And thus, those inspire me to buy as well.
I want to seem interesting and fashionable.
[The End]
Now...on to the outfit. ...
Another tip that I got from the same Blogger was to take pieces that I ALREADY have in my closet and ReMix them.
I do that anyways, but I wanted to showcase this dress again since I thought I looked so cute in it today.
The word "ReMix" simply means take something you've already worn and wear it in different ways to create different looks.
So... I took the dress in the picture above and remixed it.
Not a DRASTIC difference...

But there is one if you pay close attention.

I Particiated...

DSCF9941

"It makes you a better person when you consider your fellow man...and take action."
-Well Known Fact...
So,
I signed up for two walks this month.
One was the Breast Cancer Walk.
And the other was the Heart Walk for Heart Disease.
I wasn't too keen on getting up this (Saturday) morning at hours that rivaled those of me getting up for work.
But once I got going it was all good.
I did my morning routine, researched the location on Google Maps, and headed out the door.
I was headed toward the WRONG location, but traffic was blocked which lead me to the RIGHT area.
When I saw all the individuals dawning their pink and breast cancer awareness themed shirts, I knew I had purposed in my mind to go to the wrong walk today.
From the waist down, I was straight.
But I would have liked to dawn one of the little pink tanks I have in my drawer...I didn't feel too bad as I saw some others who were not wearing any pink either. ... OH WELL!

Cropped Leggings: Forever 21+
Tennis: Nikes (even though they are OLD, they were surprisingly comfortable walking/jogging shoes)
I am EXTREMELY proud of myself!
I finished the walk, jogged it some, and did so at a good pace (if I do say so myself).

Camera in hand at that!
I can tell my stamina has increased as a result of doing Turbo Fire consistently.
I will admit part of my motivation was making my hair appointment this afternoon. ... (It is what it is!)
Side Note: I was enlightened, surprised and proud all at the same time to see the numerous amounts of men participating.
Here are some more pictures from the event.

The walk was held at the Water Garden.
They even had the water dyed pink which I thought was a neat touch!
